Direct-acting limit switches rely on the direct impact of the moving part on the operating head to actuate; they have a simple structure but a relatively slow operating speed. Roller-type limit switches use a roller to contact the moving part, reducing wear and making them suitable for high-speed applications. Micro-motion limit switches have high sensitivity and rapid operation, and are often used in equipment with high precision requirements.
